Play Dough Recipe

As promised in yesterday’s birthday party post here is the recipe for home made play dough (enough for at least eight children to play with)

  • 3 cups of plain flour
  • 3 cups of water
  • 3 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 6 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1.5 cups of table salt
  • food colouring (optional – I used one and a half bottles of green to get a deep green playdough)

Place all the ingredients in a saucepan at a low heat. Stir continously until the mixture thickens to a firm dough texture.
